PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
You have already joined the privileged few and experienced the realm of inner space. The Advanced Open Water Diver Course will enable you to fine-tune your skills, meet new dive buddies and gain further knowledge and experience! You now have the chance to explore the many special dive activities that this fantastic program offers.
What do I need to start?
You need to be at least 12 years old and be a PADI Open Water Diver or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation. You will also need to complete the following forms:
- PADI Statement of Risks and Liability
- PADI/RSTC Medical Statement
- PADI Standard Safe Diving Practices
What will I do?
The Advanced Open Water Diver Course has something for absolutely everyone! This in-water, performance based program consists of five dives. Under the direct guidance of a PADI professional, you can gain additional experience during the two core dives and three elective dives.
The core dives are the Deep Dive and the Navigation Dive, which must be completed. The elective dives can be chosen from this wide range: Boat, Cavern, Drift, Dry Suit, Multilevel, Night, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search and Recovery, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Photographer, AWARE Fish Identification or Wreck (subject to location).
You can choose! The five qualification dives can be completed on one of our many trips to locations including Egypt, The Italian Riviera and Stoney Cove. At these locations you will be able to complete your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course under the supervision of an Instructor from Galaxsea Divers.
How long will it take?
PADI programs are performance based. However, you can expect to complete the five dives over a two day period.

What do I bring?
All equipment is provided, with the exception of mask, snorkel and fins, which you will need to bring for reasons of hygiene.

As a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver you can enrol on the PADI Rescue Diver course or continue your education through the wide variety of PADI specialty courses.
